Elegant and Extraordinary: Dark Kitchens

Black, dark blue, and Charcoal grey- those who are buying a new kitchen will discover that dark colors are trending. Matte black, in particular, is growing in popularity. Dark is Beautiful?!

While white kitchens have moved into homes in recent years, they are now being passed over for dark ones. The fronts of cupboards, appliances and storage space are in colors such as black, dark grey and dark blue. At first, this seems unusual, but it is in line with other trends such as industrial style, metallic and materials such as concrete.

Smooth or Matte?

The dark kitchen fronts can be perfectly combined with the existing living styles. Glossy black looks noble and elegant. Kitchen fronts in this style are loved by people that desire chic designer kitchens. The light reflects off of the high-gloss fronts making the kitchen brighter than you would expect.

Matte surfaces in the absorbent color look cool and robust. They are easier to clean and more resilient than the smooth versions. Concrete worktops for a modern industrial look, wood for a robust, cool touch can be combined with marble and pastel colors. You can even choose between different degrees of matte finish.

Dark Accents

Those who have decided not to have a kitchen coated in black can complement white kitchens with black door fronts and create a Scandinavian-inspired black-and-white look. Alternatively, dark blue fronts can create new accents. These are ideal in combination with marble worktops and can contrast beautifully with warm wood tones such as oak.

Dark is Beautiful – these are our dark kitchens!
