Bread, Books and Clouds: Food Blogger Alice Del Re

Traditional and original recipes are the specialty of the Italian archeologist, cook and book lover. Her popular blog documents her efforts and supplies mouth-watering photos to inspire imitation. Who wouldn’t swoon for aubergine balls or cold melon soup?

For an archeologist working in a museum, Alice del Re is used to digging for facts and unearthing information about past civilizations. Combine that with a love for cooking, hospitality and photography and the recipe is perfect for her successful blog Panelibrienuvole which literally translates as bread books and clouds. Sweet or savory, her recipes all come with the authentic Italian flavour we have all come to love.

Alice del Re is thirty-something and lives in Florence. As an Italian, her interest in food and its preparation is much more than superficial. She loves experimenting with recipes, trying them out in her little kitchen and then tasting them with friends. Setting the table, picking the right props and choosing the best light are all part of what have contributed to making her photos and the blog so popular.

Her specialty are sweets. Alice loves to bake cakes, biscuits and muffins. But savoury dishes will also be featured – made of the best seasonal and regional ingredients available – using traditional and experimental recipes.
