The city of Munich is in a state of emergency for about 14 days during Oktoberfest. We present you with the traditional culinary delicacies from this great folk festival.
In addition to indulging in a Maß of beer or two (a liter of beer in a traditional mug), food is the heart of Oktoberfest. Traditional cuisine plays a major role in the Gaudi (Bavarian word for fun) at the Wiesn (Bavarian abbreviation for the Oktoberfest, which is held at the “Theresienwiese.”).
Breakfast Weisswurst (Bavarian sausage), Brotzeit (snack) board with radish, Obazda (buttery cheese delicacy) and pretzels, sausage salad, as well as chicken or pork knuckle – these Bavarian dishes are the soul food of this great folk festival.
