Threetooth puffer, Triodon macropterus, swimming with divers. Is the only living species in the genus. Other members of the family are known from fossils stretching back to the Eocene. Its a rare fish species that lives on Indo Pacific from 50 to 300 meters deep. It has a distinctive shape, with a huge belly flap as large as or larger than its body; it inflates this with seawater when threatened. Philippines.

Es handelt sich um eine seltene Fischart, die im Indopazifik in einer Tiefe von 50 bis 300 Metern lebt. Er hat eine charakteristische Form mit einem riesigen Bauchlappen, der so groß oder größer als sein Körper ist; bei Bedrohung bläst er diesen mit Meerwasser auf.
