It is an unbelievable and unmissable destination for anyone visiting Java or Bali. Not only is the view on the 4km walk up to the craters edge impressive, but what goes on there is mind boggling. Walking down to the bottom of Kwah Ijen (Ijen Crater), hundreds of Indonesian men, many in flipflops, are mining sulphur from the heart of the volcano.
