The Park is a Dark Sky Preserve. This was August 26, 2022 on a perfect night of stargazing under very clear skies. The Milky Way extends from Sagittarius near the horizon, to Cygnus nearly overhead at this time, so a vertical sweep of 90°. I've left the satellite trails in for this scene.

The star party is held at a church camp near Elkwater,Alberta in the Cypress Hills. The sky is very dark there! About 80 people attended this year. Most are looking after their astrophoto rigs. The camp has a number of cabins for accommodation and a main service building at centre here.

The Stargazer (Uranoscopus chinensis) is an ambush predator that remains buried during the day, with only it's eyes and mouth visible. This species can be found at night, but is nearly impossible to located when the sun is out; Philippines.
